History
The Library of the Institute of History is one of the largest libraries at the Jagiellonian University. The Library started collecting books in the 1870s and now has approx. 141,000 volumes.
The Library also owns many journals (including Kwartalnik Historyczny, Ateneum, Przegląd Polski, Rocznik Krakowski), which it started collecting in the second half of the nineteenth century. To meet the needs of the Institute’s academic staff and students, the Library constantly acquires new books and, in very close agreement and collaboration with the Jagiellonian Library, continues to take steps towards automating the collection.
